About Ms. Saurman

I am a native Mainer! I grew up in Southern Maine by the beach in York. I moved to Portland to go to college at the University of Southern Maine where I double majored in Sociology and Elementary Education. After graduating, I immediately continued in my graduate program at USM and completed the ETEP (Extended Teacher Education Program) to become a certified teacher. I received my master's degree in Teaching and Learning from USM, as well.

This will be my 7th year in the classroom! I started my teaching career in Yarmouth at the Rowe School where I was an Educational Technician in the learning center for a year. I then moved to Yarmouth Elementary School to take a fourth grade long-term sub position for eight months. After that, I received a job in Harrison in the Oxford Hills School District where I taught third grade for two years. I then went back to Yarmouth and taught fourth grade for two more years. Last year I taught fourth grade in Mechanic Falls. I am now re-locating and buying a house in southern Maine and am so happy to settle in at Windham Primary. I am so excited to teach second grade!

I live in Falmouth with my crazy dog, Daisy. I enjoy hiking and swimming with Daisy, reading, baking, yoga, powerlifting, dancing, and learning new things every day!
